Hofstra in Ireland

June 30 - July 17, 2008
Summer Session 2

Description

Spend three weeks in Galway on Ireland's breathtaking Atlantic coast, experience Dublin's emergence as a global city, and attend cultural events like plays, films, and music festivals.

Ireland is known as "The Island of Saints and Scholars" and, more recently, as the home of the booming Celtic Tiger economy. Hofstra is pleased to offer an exceptional opportunity to study these aspects of Irish life, history and more in English and business courses.

The program offers an opportunity to:

  • Earn credits toward graduation in a spectacular Irish setting.
  • Study contemporary Ireland in the classroom and experience it for yourself through field trips and impromptu encounters with locals.
  • Learn about business practices in Ireland with a focus on advertising.
  • Undertake an individual honors option and/or earn HUHC credit.
  • Build towards a business, English and Drama majors or minors.

Cost

The program cost is estimated at $4,000 (which includes roundtrip airfare, housing, trips to Dublin and other events, local transportation, and three special group dinners),* plus Hofstra tuition and fees.

* The program fee quoted above is subject to change.

Deadline

Deadline for completed application and $200 nonrefundable deposit is March 6, 2008.
