Julia Caliendo
Julia Caliendo is the STEM Studio teaching and learning lab coordinator at Hofstra University. She is a doctoral student in the Department of Teaching, Literacy and Leadership at Hofstra University, where she also earned a Master of Science in secondary science education. Ms. Caliendo’s research interests include problem-based learning in STEM disciplines, elementary science teacher education, and scientific literacy. She holds New York state teacher licenses in elementary education, secondary biology, earth science, and general science. She has extensive experience teaching science in traditional and alternative public school settings in New York City and on Long Island. Additionally, she has served as a student teacher mentor, secondary science curriculum writer, and presenter at science teacher professional development courses and events.
