Shawn Thelen
Shawn Thelen, Ph.D., is an assistant professor in the Department of Marketing and International Business at Hofstra University’s Frank G. Zarb School of Business. He also serves as the Zarb School’s outcome assessment coordinator for student learning as well as a standing member of the Curriculum Committee, Graduate Outcome Assessment Committee, Assessment Oversight Committee and Honors College Council. His service to the University includes participating in open house events and serving as a member of the Center for Teaching and Scholarly Excellence, University Senate (senator at large), and Graduate Academic Affairs Committee.
Dr. Thelen’s publications include 15 articles in peer-reviewed journals such as the Journal of Business Research, Journal of International Marketing, Industrial Marketing Management, Business Horizons, International Journal of Retail & Distribution Management, Quarterly Journal of Electronic Commerce, Journal of Marketing Channels, and The Marketing Management Journal. In addition, he has presented 19 manuscripts at national and international conferences, including conferences of the American Marketing Association and Academy of International Business.
Dr. Thelen earned a Ph.D. from Old Dominion University, a Master of International Management from Thunderbird School of Global Management, a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Baltimore, and an Associate of Arts from Dundalk Community College. His industry experience includes working for several Fortune 250 firms in operations, marketing and export management. His international experiences include working and studying in Taiwan while attending Thunderbird and serving as a Peace Corps volunteer in Russia from 1996 to 1998.
