Hofstra University
Universities play a special role in society. While our first obligation is of course to teaching, we are also leaders in research and in service to our communities.
The Office for Research and Sponsored Programs exists to assist faculty and others in pursuit of special efforts that can enrich the University's education, research and service endeavors. Our primary responsibility is to assist in securing financial support, usually in the form of peer-reviewed grants or contracts, thereby enabling the University to undertake new projects or expand or improve upon ongoing activities. Additionally, our Office provides a wide range of support services from assistance in the protection of intellectual properties to compliance with governmental regulations and award conditions, all to assure - in a joint effort with faculty - that the name Hofstra University stands for reliability and excellence in research and all other professional and scholarly pursuits.
