Identifying an Appropriate Funding Source

One of the most important roles of the Office for Research and Sponsored Programs is to provide assistance in the identification of appropriate external funding sources.

Consistently successful grant-writers recognize that the search for an appropriate funding source requires more than a scanning of abstracts published in databases, directories, or a grants office newsletter ? that is just a starting point!

The Office for Research and Sponsored Programs can help you develop effective strategies to identify promising funding opportunities in your discipline. Each semester, we will offer workshops to discuss methods many successful grant writers use to identify potential funding sources and to develop responsive grant proposals.

Be assured that our workshops are not intended to replace one-on-one sessions between faculty and Office personnel! Quite the contrary! Following the workshop, participants are encouraged to work one-on-one on a regular basis with ORSP personnel.

Dates of upcoming workshops will be posted on our News and Events page. For further information, contact Associate Provost Sofia Kakoulidis at extension 3-6810.
