Edmund S. Muskie and Freedom Support Act Graduate Fellowship Program
American Councils for International Education (ACIE)
Projected institutional application due date: January 31, 2004

Program provides citizens of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan with the opportunity to pursue graduate study at the master's level in the United States. Students are chosen in the fields of business administration, economics, education, international affairs, journalism and mass communications, law, and select other fields.  The program provides full scholarships to participants, including university tuition, fees, room, board, health insurance, monthly stipend, book allowance, and international and domestic travel. Cited above is the projected deadline for institutions to apply to become Muskie Fellowship host institutions.

Fulbright Scholars Program
The Fulbright Scholars Program offers U.S. faculty and professionals opportunities for advanced lecturing and research in more than 140 countries worldwide. All academic disciplines and a wide range of professional fields are represented, and many awards are flexible to the needs and interests of grantees. Approximately 800 Fulbright Scholar awards are made annually.  The main annual deadline for applications to the Fulbright Scholars Program is August 1, however, certain opportunities within the Fulbright Scholars Program will often remain open beyond this due date.  The Fulbright Program is sponsored by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State and administered by the Council for International Exchange of Scholars (CIES).
