Hofstra University is a dynamic private college on Long Island, NY, where students can choose from more than 140 undergraduate and 155 graduate programs in liberal arts and sciences, business, communication, education and allied human services, and honors studies, as well as a School of Law. | more |

Each spring, members of Hofstra’s current academic graduating classes help select the faculty members from each school and college who will receive the annual Teacher of the Year awards. The faculty members selected receive a cash award and an engraved plaque citing reasons given by students in support of their nomination.
From 1960 through 2002, Hofstra awarded a single “Distinguished Teacher of the Year Award” annually. In recognition of our many excellent faculty and the fact that excellence in teaching is our highest priority, we initiated individual School/College Teacher of the Year awards beginning with the 2002-03 academic year.
In March, graduating students are invited to vote online for the faculty they feel are most deserving of recognition as distinguished teachers. Only full-time faculty members during the year of graduation who have not previously received a School/College Teacher of the Year award are eligible.
