MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND - BANNER UPGRADE

The My.Hofstra.edu portal, Banner and Hofstra Online will be unavailable as services are improved. During the upgrade, email for faculty and staff, Blackboard and My Files may be accessed by visiting My.Hofstra.edu and following the links that will be provided.

Watch for a HOFALERT in your email the week before Memorial Day for start and end times of this service interruption.

INCOMPLETE GRADING ENHANCEMENT

In addition to entering a default incomplete grade for undergraduates and possibly shortening the extension date, faculty can now select a reason for assigning an incomplete grade from the drop down menu of choices. If unchanged, the default reason is "Missing Assignment(s)".

CLASS STANDING CHANGES

Beginning with March 2011 registration for the Fall, 2011 semester, any undergraduate student credited with 30 semester hours will be ranked as a sophomore; with 60 semester hours, a junior; and 90 semester hours, a senior.

FERPA LINK on ONLINE DARS

Faculty, advisors and staff with access to run a student's DARS on Hofstra Online will now find a handy link to that student's FERPA authorized user information at the top of the audit.

The new HELP DESK WALK-IN CENTER in 108 McEwen Hall is now open with agents ready to assist you. Hours of Operation are Monday thru Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. until May 28 when Friday hours end at 3:30 p.m.

What is Active Directory? Active directory is a technology that stores and administers directory information and settings in a central database. Provided by Microsoft this product will be used to administer the directory of Hofstra personnel with access to network and web resources, provide information security, assign policies, deploy software, and apply critical updates.
