Does Hofstra offer meal plans?
Hofstra's Dining Services does offer a variety of meal plans for conference groups. Meeting Planners can choose from several pre-priced plans with specific menus or may opt to set up a plan with a set dollar amount based upon the group's budget and preferences. Meal Plans are not available on an individual basis; however, individuals are more than welcome to use any of the dining facilities on a cash basis.

What are the largest meeting facilities that Hofstra has to offer?
Hofstra has a variety of meeting facilities to accommodate small groups and groups up to 5,000 persons. The largest facilities at Hofstra include: the John Cranford Adams Playhouse, an 1,100 seat theater, the 36,000 square foot Physical Education Center and the Hofstra Arena which seats 5,125 persons.

Is Hofstra's campus handicapped accessible?
Yes, Hofstra is 100% program accessible to persons with disabilities.

Is there parking available on campus?
There is ample free parking on Hofstra's campus. Visitors do not need permits to park, but they require permits for disabled parking privileges.

Are the dormitories air conditioned?
All of the residence halls on Hofstra's campus are equipped with air conditioning at no extra charge.

Are refrigerators, TV's or VCR's available?
Groups may rent small refrigerators with a freezer and microwave from Hofstra. TV's and VCR's can also be rented from an approved vendor. In both cases, charges will be passed along to the group. All residence hall rooms are cable ready. Guests may bring their own television with cable wire and hook into Hofstra's cable at no additional charge.

Are there telephones in the residence hall rooms?
Yes, each room has a telephone which may be used for on campus and third party calling. In addition, there are pay phones on the first floor of each building.

May I cook my own meals in the residence halls?
Yes, guests may cook their own meals in the kitchen facilities provided in each residence hall. Kitchens include an oven with burners, microwaves and a sink. The use of cooking appliances (hot pots, hot plates, etc.) in rooms is strictly prohibited.

How far in advance should conference dates be reserved?
For one day events, at least four weeks' notice is recommended. For larger groups and conferences, we suggest that contact be made at least one year's advance notification.

Can I use my computer in the residence halls?
Yes. Ports are now available in all rooms. Ethernet cards and cords (Hofstra cannot provide these items) must be used to access the Internet. See Resnet for more information.
