Housing Accommodations

Hofstra University residence halls can accommodate over 4,500 guests in several types of residential settings ranging from suite style with semi-private bath to a traditional dormitory style set-up. All rooms include a bed, dresser, wardrobe closet, desk, chair and wastebasket for each guest. All of our rooms are air-conditioned!


Colonial Square

Colonial Square

Colonial Square is the largest residence complex on the Hofstra campus. It is comprised of 14 houses, arranged in three groups of four or five houses around a courtyard. Each two-floor house contains two-bedroom or three-bedroom suites with approximately 60 beds and semi-private bathrooms. Common lounge areas, kitchen and laundry facilities are found on the first floor of each house. Ample parking and athletic fields surround the facility.



Liberty/Republic

Liberty/Republic

These two-story buildings are home to our Honors College. They provide accommodations for approximately 150 guests. The bedrooms are double occupancy with common area bathrooms in the hallway.



Nassau and Suffolk Halls

Nassau and Suffolk Halls

Nassau and Suffolk Halls are located at the Northwest corner of the campus. This six story twin complex provides modern accommodations for approximately 600 guests. Both halls contain two-bedroom and three-bedroom suites each with a semi-private bathroom. Some suites also have a common lounge. Common lounge areas, kitchen and laundry facilities are found on the first floor of each complex.



Stuyvesant Hall (formerly New Complex)

Stuyvesant Hall

Hofstra's newest residence hall is a four-story complex which consists of suites with mostly double rooms, common lounge and semi-private bathrooms. In addition, each floor contains a common lounge area and laundry facilities. Kitchen facilities, as well as a recreation and lounge area, are located on the first floor. Stuyvesant Hall (formerly New Complex) can accommodate up to 120 guests.



The Netherlands

The Netherlands

The Netherlands consists of two separate areas, a North court and a South court. The North court is comprised of six houses and the South contains five. All houses consist of two-bedroom suites, each with a common lounge and semi-private bathroom. A common lounge, kitchen and laundry facilities are found on the first floor of each house.

The Towers

The six high-rise residence halls are located on Hofstra's North Campus. Each building houses between 235 and 295 guests and comprises single, double and triple occupancy rooms with designated male and female bathrooms. Common lounge areas, kitchens and laundry facilities are found in each building. Alliance, Bill of Rights and Enterprise Halls are accessible to guests with disabilities.

Security

Security

The Hofstra University Department of Public Safety provides 24-hour security coverage. All residence halls maintain a modern, state-of-the-art security and fire alarm system. Each residence hall is self-contained with 24-hour desk coverage. All guests must present Hofstra Conference Services identification upon entry.

Telephones can be made available in the rooms and can be used for on campus calls. A telephone calling card can be used for calls outside of the campus. Together, these security measures provide a safe and secure environment for all Hofstra University Guests. Contact the Office of Conference Services at x3-6925 for more information.
