The PPD gets a great number of informational questions throughout the day. Below are some of the most common questions we are asked and their answer. If you can not find an answer to your question on this page or the PPD website, please call us.
Q: Who can report a problem for a particular location?
A: Anyone can report a problem for any problem they see anywhere on campus. Emergency issues should be reported immediately to the PPD. All other issues should be reported through the proper channels within the area the problem is in.
Q: What is an emergency?
A: Any situation which is dangerous, potentially dangerous, is causing additional damage or requires immediate action for the use of the space.
Work Request/Order Questions:
Q: How can I submit a work request?
A: Click here to submit the request electronically with the Work Request form. You will immediately receive a confirmation that the request has been received. To report an emergency at anytime, contact the Service Desk at (516) 463-6619. (Calls are automatically forwarded to Public Safety during non-business hours, 24 hours a day.)
Q: My department is generating a large number of Work Requests. Is it possible to get direct access to the Work Order System (WOS) so we can enter the Work Requests directly?
A: Yes, under certain conditions the Facilities and Operations Department will provide direct access to the WOS. If you think that you need direct access please call 516-463-6619 and ask for the Information Systems Manager.
