Capital Project Management is committed to providing the highest quality architectural, engineering, project management and construction services. Our department directly manages a wide array of renovation and improvement projects for existing buildings, oversees all aspects of the construction of new facilities, and ensures that the University’s architectural and engineering standards are maintained.
Capital Project Management Groups
- Capital Improvement
The members of the Capital Improvement group are responsible for executing renovation and enhancement projects with budgets less than $1 million from inception through completion (which includes design development, the bid and award process, and construction). - Project Engineering
The Project Engineering team provides guidance for design criteria, helps select engineering firms to perform needed work, and works with those firms to ensure quality of design work and compliance with applicable code and University standards. - Project Management
The Project Management staff oversees all aspects of major construction projects, including development of plans in consultation with academic and administrative clients, scheduling, construction management, and verification of the quality of completed work. - University Architect
The University Architect helps maintain and improve the quality of design via identifying and engaging with consulting architects, is responsible for monitoring compliance with building codes and University standards, and develops condition surveys for the campus. - CPM Operations
The Department of Capital Project Management Operations oversees the day-to-day functions of the department including the operating budget, project reporting and supporting University initiatives. CPM Operations is liaison to other University departments including Purchasing, Risk Management, General Counsel, Internal Audit, Environmental Health and Radiation Safety and Human Resources.
