Community Standards

Common Lounge Areas

Each dorm facility has a common lounge area with living room furnishings and television. The common area also has a kitchenette with a stovetop, sink and microwave. All of these items must stay in the common area the entire summer. They cannot be removed or placed in storage.

Extension Cords
Electric Blankets
Cooking Appliances
Cinder Blocks
Any type of Firearm or Weapon
Candles of Any Type
Halogen Lamps
Masking Tape, nails or other products which damage painted walls
Smoking is prohibited
Microwaves
Coffeemakers
Toasters
Toaster Ovens
Hot Plates
Electric Grills
Electric Heaters
Water Beds
Pets

Drugs and Alcohol Policy

Possession and/or use of controlled substances and related paraphemalia is strictly prohibited on any part of the Hofstra Campus. Hofstra University forbids the illegal use of drugs.

Consumption or possession of alcoholic beverages by those under 21 years of age is prohibited. Consumption or possession of alcohol in community/public areas, such as parking lots, University grounds, building lounges or hallways is also prohibited.
