Furnishings and Equipment
Use the following items to improve your presentations and enhance your programs. Contact us for expert assistance with room design. For more information on the types of setups available, see Meeting Planner Resources page.
- Chairs. Plastic or leather seat covered. Some availability of upholstered furnishings. Dimensions are 22" wide x 20" deep x 30" high.
- Tables. Rectangular tables (6' x 30" x 30") accommodate 2 or 3 people classroom style (on one side facing front of room) or 6 (using both sides). Round tables that seat 8-10 persons are 72" around.
- Lecterns. For use by speakers with notes, awards, microphones, extra light source or an extra shelf for water. Standing lecterns are 27" x 21' x 47". Desktop model can be used on a presentation table at the front of the room.
- Metal easels. For use as whiteboard or with large paper (29" wide x 65" high) tablets. Tablets must be provided by the user, along with markers. Useful for visual representation of discussion topics.
- Wooden easels and signs. For use with foam board signs to provide directions or poster displays. Signs are made by Office of Conference Services (contact the Hospitality Desk at 463-6925 for more information).
- Flags. International (5' wide x 3' deep), Hofstra (5 x 3, 6 x 4), USA (5 x 3, 6 x 4), State of New York, and County of Nassau flags. Contact the Office of Event Management Planning at 463-6631 for information about Hofstra protocol.
- Banners. Hofstra University banners (22" x 33") are used on a lectern to identify Hofstra events. Limited availability.
- Dividers. Used to divide portions of rooms and for some decoration (50" x 88").
