Description: The Assistant Director for Multicultural and International Student Programs is a full-time staff position within the Office of Multicultural and International Student Programs. This position’s primary responsibility is to advise and assist international students in regard to immigration regulations as a Designated School Official (DSO) and Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO).
The major responsibilities include developing and implementing comprehensive outreach, services, and educational/cultural programs in regard to the international student community within the University.

The Assistant Director is expected to be active in the professional organizations pertaining to international education, primarily through NAFSA: The Association of International Educators and One to World and update the team and colleagues in regard to changes in regulations governing international students. Extended hours will be required on an as needed basis, including evening, early morning and weekend assignments as necessary.

The ideal candidate will be a committed professional with knowledge of international education and commitment to the holistic development of international student success. The candidate must be a collaborative worker, a self-starter, and a confident spokesperson.

Qualifications: • Master’s degree in higher education.
• At least three years of professional experience working in an international student services office at a college or university and comprehensive understanding of F-1 and J-1 immigration regulations.
• Ability to work as a team player and build and maintain trusting, strong, professional relationships with students, faculty and staff.
• Strong attention to detail and demonstrated precise record keeping and experience in such areas as database maintenance and reporting, and other office technology.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and possess outstanding written and oral communication skills. Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast pace working environment.
• Strong computer skills, including experience with SEVIS, Sunapsis, Banner software, Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Access, and various social media outlets.
• U.S. citizen or permanent resident status in order to serve as a Designated School Official and Alternate Responsible Officer.
