Description: The Office of Services for Students with Disabilities is seeking a Student Services Coordinator. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Coordinate and supervise note-taking services provided to qualified students. This may include:
• Processing note-taker requests
• Training and supervising volunteer and paid note-takers
• Engaging with faculty members in order to ensure note-taking requests are fulfilled as needed
• Train and assist other SSD staff with note-taker request fulfillment as needed
• Troubleshoot note-taking service problems, tardiness, inadequate or misplaced notes, etc.

Supervise student employees:
• Interview, hire and train student employees as note-takers and office workers; complete all Human Resources employment paperwork, domestic and international
• Collect and verify student employee time sheets and oversee use of online E-Time system by student workers
• Act as liaison between SSD and Human Resources; troubleshooting and ensuring compliance with University employment regulations
• Assist the Director with monitoring the department’s need for student workers in accordance with departmental goals and budgetary constraints

Accommodation letters:
• Receive accommodation letter requests from SSD students and produce letters on their behalf to be given to faculty
• Communicate with students in regard to the importance of timely retrieval and submission of accommodation letters
• Assist other staff members with fulfillment of accommodation letter requests during peak times
• Train and oversee student workers assisting with accommodation letter request fulfillment

General Office Duties:
• Assist the Director and Learning Specialists with responding to PALS inquiries and scheduling interviews
• Assist the Director and other staff members with processing of documentation and paperwork associated with PALS applicants
• Greet and advise walk-ins and new students about registration process, accommodations, services, etc.

Special Events/ Projects:
• Represent the office at special events and on committee assignments as needed
• Collaborate with the Director and other staff members on special projects, initiatives and events that advance the department’s mission or improve services
• Must be willing to work occasional evening and weekend hours in support of special events/projects
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree preferred. A minimum of three (3) years prior experience in a business environment, office management experience preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Access and SunGard Banner. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Exceptional interpersonal skills. The ability to prioritize multiple tasks. Must be able to perform in a collaborative, organized, and detail oriented manner. Must be committed to working with people with disabilities and a diverse student population.
