2008 Nassau, Manhattan, Queens, Suffolk Pickup Points

Door-to-door transportation will not be provided for any registrations received after:

• Session 1 - June 2
• Session 2 - June 16
• Session 3 and 4 - June 23

Area pickups may be provided depending on availability.

Parents are notified approximately one week prior to each session as to when their child will be picked up for door-to-door transportation.

Area pickups: Please place your choice of area pickup on the registration form. All campers must have the same pickup and drop-off address.

• Approximate pickup time is between 7:45 and 8:30 a.m. (some bus routes may be earlier).
• Departure time from Hofstra University is approximately between 4:15 and 4:30 p.m.
• Area pickups: Please place your choice on the registration form.
• Each camper must have the same pickup and drop-off address.
• Session Four: Pickup and drop-off is at Hofstra USA.

Please be advised of the following for your child's safe, supervised and prompt transportation service:

1. Bus routes and drivers may be changed each session.
2. We will not reroute buses in order for campers to be with friends.
3. Vans do not have counselors; drivers supervise.
4. Buses with more than 17 campers have counselor supervision.

From Nassau County

Door-to-door transportation is provided for Nassau County residents only. Certain outlying areas in Nassau County (such as Bayville, Lattingtown, Mill Neck, Cove Neck, Locust Valley, Oyster Bay Cove, Matinecock) will use Teddy Roosevelt School area pickup.  Manor Haven, Laurel Hollow, Kings Point  and Sands Point will be assigned to a bus stop by the transportation office.

Please bring your child to the  pickup area by 7:30 a.m. to meet the bus and return at approximately 5:00 p.m. to pick up your child.

1.  Teddy Roosevelt School Parking Lot (Main Street and Larrabee Road) in Oyster Bay at 7:30 a.m.

Manhattan Area Pick-Ups

Please bring your child to the selected pickup area by 7:00 a.m. to meet the bus, and return at approximately 5:45 p.m. (depending on traffic)

Queens

Door-to-door transportation is provided in designated areas (Little Neck, Rosedale, Bellerose, Floral Park, Cambria Heights, Douglaston, Queens Village and Bayside). All other locations are served by area pickups.

Queens Area Pickups:
Please bring your child to the selected pickup area by 7:45 a.m. to meet the bus, and return at approximately 5:00-5:15 p.m. to pick up your child.

1. Horace Harding and Springfield Blvd. (At the McDonald's just off of the LIE)
2. Loews Cineplex Fresh Meadows on the LIE near 188th Street.
3. Springfield Boulevard and Merrick Boulevard (Pathmark Shopping Center)
4. Rockaway Turnpike by Bay Harbor Mall (Wendy's)
5. Mott Avenue in Far Rockway at the Norfolk Bank

Suffolk County

There are designated central area pickup points on or near the Nassau County border.

Suffolk County Area Pickups:
Please bring your child to the selected pickup area by 7:45 a.m. to meet the bus, and return at approximately 5:00-5:15 p.m. to pick up your child.

1. Dix Hills Chestnut Hill School - Exit 50 Bagatelle Road just off LIE.
2. Massapequa Olive Garden Restaurant located across from Sunrise Mall on Sunrise Highway.
3. Suffolk North Sunken Meadow Parkway (Exit SM1) at the Friendly's, at the northeast corner of Harned Road and Jericho Turnpike.
4. Suffolk South, Sunoco Gas Station, 1011 Route 109. Take Southern State Parkway, Exit 35S. Corner of Route 109 and North Wellwood Ave (just South of Mt. Ararat Cemetary and across from Dunkin Donuts).
   
   Please see below for the morning drop-off time, and return to all locations at approximately 4:45 p.m.

   McDonald's at 25A in Northport at 7:30 a.m. (Separate van)
   
   The following three stops are all on the same van:

   Eckerds/Genovese at 25A Huntington. West end of Main Street just before the curve to Cold Spring Harbor at 7:30 a.m.
7. Suffolk
   Dunkin' Donuts/Baskin-Robbins (new) on route 25A (Main Street) in Huntington (just east of the Centerport line) at 7:30 a.m.
8. Huntington
   Burger King on Jericho Turnpike near Oakwood Road, with an afternoon drop-off across the street from Dunkin' Donuts at 7:30 a.m.
9. Huntington
   Sun Ming Restaurant on Jericho Turnpike and Round Swamp Road at 7:30 a.m.

DEAD ENDS OR CUL-DE-SACS
Parents must contact the Transportation Office to make arrangements for dead ends or cul-de-sacs. Families that live on dead-end streets or cul-de-sacs MUST meet the bus at the corner of the block for pickup and drop-off.
