THE NEW WORLD OF RADIO AND TELEVISION BROADCASTING

The television, radio and internet industry are changing dramatically-almost on a month-to-month basis. The introduction of new technologies, the need to be a convergent broadcaster and finding clarity in a specific broadcasting field prompted the decision to run this eight week-Saturday only course.This intensive course introduces students to the new world of broadcasting. Students will learn how to assemble a newscast, including anchoring, writing, editing and reporting, weathercasting, traffic reporting, TV interviewing, entertainment reporting, marketing, and other fields. The experience includes performing in front of the camera and behind the microphone, using Hofstra University's state-of-the-art equipment and facilities, as well News 12 mentors and recording facilities. Each student will receive a copy of his or her TV and radio broadcasting completed during the workshops. The course is open to students ages 14 to adult and is taught by seasoned broadcast professionals.
