Join us to experience this ancient and uniquely satisfying art form, which produces pottery of an almost mystical beauty, revealing an intimate connection with the world of the spirit. In this workshop, you'll experiment with the techniques of several Japanese schools of pottery--including the Jomon, Haniwa, Shino and Oribe, Tamba, and assorted schools of porcelain -- to create unique pieces. Some are figure-based, stylistic interpretations of flora and fauna. Others are more classically inspired, similar yet different from pottery seen today. (The process is mostly hand building; i.e., does not involve the wheel.) Limited enrollment.
