This course is for young actors eager for an "onstage" experience to broaden their talents and hone their craft. The importance of body and voice is emphasized as well as creativity through improvisation. The roots of theatre history and the art of acting are also explored. Both as individuals and in group ensembles, our professional actor coaches all students as they gain confidence and skill. Each week is a composite of acting exercises, monologs, skits, and improvs, which serve as a creative showcase for the students' original and directed classwork. Attention is centered on the students moving from self-consciousness to self confidence and simply having fun.
