This course teaches lifeguard candidates the skills and knowledge needed to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies. The course content and activities prepare candidates to recognize and respond quickly and effectively to emergencies, and prevent drownings and injuries. Both classroom and pool instruction follow the required number of hours required by American Red Cross. The required textbook is provided. All classes must be attended to fulfill the American Red Cross requirements. There are no make-up classes.
