Summer session 2
The 2009 Hofstra in Spain Program is based in Santiago de Compostela, a UNESCO World Heritage City in northwest Spain. It is an exceptionally beautiful city, and its medieval and Renaissance streets and architecture are enchanting.
The University of Santiago de Compostela, where classes are held, is more than 500 years old and enjoys an outstanding tradition of learning. The university has an established system for hosting foreign students, featuring an exciting range of cultural events and historical tours, in addition to recreational activities. Students live in one of the university's residence halls, where meals are provided. Free weekend excursions planned and organized by the university are open to interested students as well.
Program participants have an opportunity to travel to Madrid, where high-quality accommodations are included in the program fee. The program offers full tours of major cultural attractions, including the Prado Museum, the Reina Sofia Museum of Modern Art, and the Royal Palace. In addition, tickets to a theater production and a flamenco performance of exceptional quality are included in the program fee.
