M.A. & M.S. in Biology

Maureen Krause

I'm interested in the link between genetic variation and protein function from an evolutionary perspective. Most of my work focuses on marine organisms because they display such amazing adaptations to their environment. Projects in my lab include a molecular evolutionary study of an enzyme found in bay scallops, a conservation genetics study of green sea turtles, and work to develop a new method for characterizing gene expression at the genome-wide level (in collaboration with Brookhaven National Laboratory).
