M.A. & M.S. in Biology
Robert Seagull
My research is aimed at developing an understanding of the biological mechanisms that regulate cotton fiber growth and development. The long term goal of my research is to develop strategies to alter fiber growth in ways that will improve the textile traits of cotton. I use a multifaceted approach to my study of cotton fiber and have used an array of experimental techniques, such as light and electron microscopy, cell culture, pharmacological experiments, physiological experiments, cell fractionation, protein purification, immuno-localization and more.
