A panel discussion presented as part of the "1935: The Reality and the Promise" conference in celebration of Hofstra University’s 75th anniversary, featured timely and robust debate about health care and federal entitlement reform, and how FDR’s New Deal might have fared in the 21st century American political climate. Panelists included Howard B. Dean III, former Democratic presidential candidate and Kalikow Center Senior Presidential Fellow and Edward J. Rollins, Republican strategist, CNN commentator and Kalikow Center Senior Presidential Fellow. The discussion was moderated by Meena Bose, executive director of the Kalikow Center, and Richard Himelfarb, associate professor of political science.
