Christina Fleck, M.A.

Christina received her B.A. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology with a minor in Business Management from Moravian College in Bethlehem, PA. She continued on to obtain her M.A. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from Xavier University in Cincinnati, OH. Currently, Christina is a second year Applied Organizational Psychology doctoral student at Hofstra University in Hempstead, NY. She is employed as an Organizational Development Intern for her father’s consulting firm Dave Fleck and Associates. Christina also serves as a Research and Teacher’s Assistant under the supervision of her advisor Dr. Maura Mills. Christina’s research interests consist of mentoring, health interventions, program evaluation, and positive organizational behavior. Currently, Christina is reviewing yoga research in hopes of writing her dissertation on how the practice can be beneficial in the workplace. In her spare time, Christina enjoys spending time with her friends and family, learning about positive psychology, practicing/teaching yoga, and going to comedy clubs.

Sayeedul Islam, M.B.A.

Sayeedul received a B.A. in Economics from Rutgers University. Later he received an MBA in Human Resources Management and an M.A. in Industrial Organizational Psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Prior to attending Hofstra University, Sayeedul worked as the Center Manager of the East Hanover Kaplan Center. He managed all of the faculty and human resources functions for all of northwestern New Jersey. Sayeedul's research interests include program evaluation (specifically in the area of training evaluation), team adaptation, customer satisfaction, recruitment, and organizational attractiveness. Sayeedul's personal interests include making people say his full name rather than his nickname (Sy), movies (especially horror/sci-fi/genre flicks), concerts, enjoying sequential art/graphic novels, and playing sports. He currently teaches undergraduate psychology courses at Hofstra and Farmingdale State College.

Albert Kennedy, M.A.

Al Kennedy is currently employed in Training & Development at Winthrop-University Hospital in Mineola, NY, where his primary responsibilities include facilitating orientation programs and customer service training for new hires, and working with online training technology. Al's research interests include training and development, work motivation, organizational justice, and customer service. He earned his B.A. in Psychology from Dowling College and his M.A. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Hofstra University. His goal is to work in the research sector, conducting data analysis and teaching on the side. Outside of his academic pursuits, Al enjoys music, both playing it with friends (vocals, and occasionally piano), and listening as well. He is an avid Texas hold'em poker player and one day hopes to participate in the tournament circuit. He also enjoys soccer, tennis, and reading anything he can get his hands on, usually graphic novels.

Saira Khan, M.A.

Saira is currently a second year doctoral student. She was recruited to Hofstra University for the doctoral program in Applied Organizational Psychology while finishing her Master’s of Arts in Psychology at Marietta College, Marietta, Ohio in 2009. She also received a bachelor’s degree from Marietta College with a minor in Leadership Studies in 2008. Saira is currently working with Dr. Cong Liu in researching social stressors, such as incivility, conflict, aggression, and bullying in the workplace. In addition, Saira is a teaching assistant for statistics at the undergraduate level in the psychology department. Saira is also currently working at a business consulting internship which focuses on senior employee development and other projects with various clients.

Andrezj Kozikowski, M.A

Andrzej started his education at Farmingdale State University where he had completed an associate’s degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences with a focus in biology. After taking his first psychology course he realized what his passion was and decided to major in Psychology at Stony Brook University. He also added Sociology as his second major and graduated with a double bachelor’s degree Summa Cum Laude. He continued to pursue his passion for psychology by furthering his education at Hofstra University obtaining a master’s degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology and is currently in his second year of the Applied Organizational Psychology PhD program. Outside from diligently working on his PhD, Andrzej enjoys reading all types of material including research and literature, weightlifting, travel and watching as well as playing many sports. He is also an avid chess player.

Robbie MacKay, M.S.

When not traversing the globe, Robbie MacKay can be found buried nose-deep in journal articles and books. Robbie attended undergrad at Purdue University, where he majored in Psychology and minored in Spanish. Afterward, he received his M.S. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from Eastern Kentucky University. Not content with ending his academic career there, he moved to New York to further his education, and to fulfill a dream of living in a world-class city. Currently he works for the Nassau County Health and Human Services Department as an intern researching disproportionate minority representation of minority youth within the juvenile justice system. His dissertation research is focused on virtual teams. Other areas of research he finds enjoyable include: motivation, selection, and leadership. In the future, Mr. MacKay intends to become a consultant, and possibly to become an adjunct professor as well, further down the line. With a degree from Hofstra in I/O, he believes the future looks quite promising, and looks forward to making his mark in the field.

Tamar Senderowicz, M.A.

Tamar developed an interest in understanding the way people think and the application within a business setting while studying for her B.A. in Psychology and completing an International Business Program at Brandeis University. Tamar was excited that a field existed where she could combine her two passions and went on to receive an M.A. in Social Organizational Psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University. Prior to attending Hofstra University, Tamar worked in human resouces in investment banking where she served as the project manager for an annual global employee satisfaction and engagement survey and other strategic HR programs and initatives. Tamar's research interests include recruitment and selection through new social media and professional networking sites, employee satisfaction, work life balance and healthy workplace practices. In her spare time, Tamar likes traveling, spending time with family and friends, trying new outdoor activities in New York City and taking hip- hop dance classes. Tamar currently works as an human resources consultant and does research with the Applied Organizational Psychology department at Hofstra.

Jasmine Snyder, M.A.

Brooklyn born Jasmine Snyder received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from The Pennsylvania State University. While working in the non-profit social services sector in Philadelphia and applying to PhD programs in Clinical Psychology, Jasmine had in epiphany: she ‘can’t do crazy.’ With that realization Ms. Snyder decided to focus her psychology background on helping businesses do a better job of handling their business. After receiving a Master’s degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of New Haven and working as both a recruiter and corporate trainer, Jasmine’s passion for learning and longing to return to NY lead her to Hofstra’s PhD program in Applied Organizational Psychology. Jasmine’s research focuses on employee selection with a specific focus on how cultural and demographics impact the employee selection process. In addition to her research, Jasmine also serves as a Teaching Assistant for statistics courses, works as an intern for Aon Hewitt, and is the founder and President of PAOP, the newly formed Applied Organizational Psychology PhD student club.
