Stavros Valenti, Ph.D., Director of the B.A. Program in Psychology
Brian Cox, Ph.D., Primary Departmental Advisor for undergraduate students
Charles Levinthal, Ph.D., Psychology Department Chairperson

Prepared by members of the B.A. Program Faculty, with special thanks to MarthaLeah Chaiken, Ph.D.

This handbook was developed by the faculty of the B.A. Program in Psychology to assist you, the undergraduate major in Psychology, in planning your course of study and anticipating careers which may suit your interests and skills.

We hope that you will find it useful as an overview of our Department and the courses we provide, and as a source of answers to some of the most common questions students have about the major in Psychology.

Please note that this Handbook is a guide. It is not an official statement of every policy related to your education at Hofstra University. All of the departmental and degree requirements discussed in this Handbook appear in the Hofstra University Bulletin, which is distributed before the start of each academic year. Always consult the Hofstra University Bulletin - the official summary of the rules and regulations of the University - for details of the requirements presented in this Handbook. It is also important that you keep the Bulletin of the year that you entered Hofstra University. These are the rules that apply to you. When changes are made in future years, they apply to that year's incoming class.
