On August 5th Wisconsin Sikh Temple Shooting

Hofstra University extends its condolences to the families of the victims of the horrific act of violence perpetrated against members of the Sikh community at the Oak Creek, Wisconsin, Temple. As the home of the Sardarni Kuljit Kaur Bindra Chair in Sikh Studies, the Sardarni Harbans Kaur Chair in Sikh Musicology, and the Guru Nanak Interfaith Prize, Hofstra enjoys a special relationship with the Sikh community, and appreciates the message of tolerance that is central to the Sikh faith. We condemn this indiscriminate violence and senseless loss of life.
