1. How many credits are required toward the major for a Bachelor of Arts degree in the Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences?

Answer: The University requirement for speech-language majors is 124 semester hours for the B.A. degree, including 40 semester hours in the major area as follows: SPCH 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 101, 102, 103, 131, 132, 133, 134, 137, 138. At least one course in behavioral/social science, biology, physical science, math and statistics (PSY 40) is also required.
2. How many credits are required toward the minor in the Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences?

Answer: A minor in Speech-Language-Hearing Science consists of the successful completion of 18 semester hours in the Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences, with at least 6 hours in residence, under advisement, and with the approval of an adviser.
3. How will I be assigned an adviser?

Answer: Upon declaration of a major, each student in the Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences is required to visit the departmental office located in Room 106 of Davison Hall, where he or she will be asked to fill out information for the database. Once this is done, he or she will be assigned a faculty member as their adviser.
4. What kinds of grades do I need to advance in the undergraduate program?

Answer: A minimum of C- is required in a prerequisite course in order to take the next course. Therefore, if the student does not meet this minimum requirement, the class must be taken over.
