Freshmen: Take One Course at a Time
(First-Year "Block Course" Option)

The block course option is open to all freshmen and is a great way to make the transition to Hofstra!

  • Take one course at a time for 3 1/2 weeks, for a total of 4 courses per semester
  • Form friendships in small classes
  • Take frequent, exciting course-related field trips to New York City

    You can take block courses in the fall or spring semester or both. You'll earn 16 credits per semester in courses that automatically fulfill degree requirements. More
