The core editorial staff is drawn from JRNL 54: Magazine Production. Classes meet in the Dempster Hall computer labs and are structured as editorial meetings, where students discuss story ideas, photographs, and all other aspects of the magazine they will produce at the end of each semester.

Pulse has won dozens of awards from Newsday, the Society of Professional Journalists, the Long Island Press Club, and other organizations that recognize outstanding student reporting. Professor Carol Fletcher, who acts as adviser, has more than twenty years experience in the magazine business, working for such publications as Time and Discover.

If you love to write, enjoy photography or have an interest in graphic design or the Web, please let us know. Contact Carol Fletcher at (516) 463-6464 or e-mail her at advisor @ pulsemagazineonline.com.

We are always eager to meet new people and new talent!
