Sybil DelGaudio is the Dean of the School of Communication.Dean DelGaudio (Ph.D., Columbia) also teaches courses in film theory, analysis, and production. She specializes in animation, documentary, and feminist theory. She recently directed the four-part series, "Animated Women," produced for ITVS and shown on many public television stations around the country, as well as in Great Britain on the BBC. The series has won recognition at many festivals and museums domestically and internationally. It has received awards at several festivals, including Sinking Creek, Columbus, and the National Educational Film and Video Festival, among others. Recently, the series also received an Emmy Award and a CINE Golden Eagle. Professor DelGaudio is a film historian whose reviews and articles have been published widely, and she is a frequent speaker and panel moderator on topics relating to film theory and animation. Her book, Dressing the Part: Sternberg, Dietrich and Costume, was published by Associated University Presses in 1993.
