Converged Newsroom and Multimedia Classroom

Hofstra's School of Communication includes NewsHub, a cutting edge converged newsroom and multimedia classroom in Dempster Hall.

Opened in 2007, NewsHub is a state of the art newsroom and collaboration space containing Avid non-linear digital editing software, iNews and NewsCutter and the latest and most useful information management and handling tools. Large screen displays provide resource material and current news, while cross-media information coordination systems help manage content. The facility is outfitted with high-speed networking capabilities and a robust digital infrastructure to keep student reporters and School of Communication students actively participating in news acquisition, creation, and collaboration.
