Identification of Child Abuse and Maltreatment, in accordance with Education Law, section 3004
Two hours of prescribed course of study for individuals applying for certification. The course includes information regarding the physical and behavioral indicators of child abuse and maltreatment and the statutory reporting requirements set out by the Commissioner, including how a report must be made, what other legal actions the reporter is mandated or authorized to take, the legal protections offered reporters and the consequences for failing to report.
This online workshop is designed to be completed in two hours. There are four modules to be viewed and at the end of each module, there is a brief test which can be retaken multiple times if necessary. You must score 100% in each of the four tests to proceed to the next module. You will be able to take each test ONLY THREE TIMES. You must achieve a perfect score of 100% in each section to complete this seminar. Failure of any module will result in failure of the seminar and you must contact the Office of Certification and Educational Support Services at (516) 463-5747 to register for an in-person seminar presentation.
