School Violence Prevention and Intervention (SAVE), in accordance with Education Law, section 3004
This study is composed of a least two clock hours of course work that includes, study in the warning signs within a developmental and social context that relates to violence and other troubling behaviors in children; the statues, regulations and policies relating to a safe nonviolent school climate; effective classroom management techniques and other academic supports that promote a nonviolent school climate and enhance learning; the integration of social and problem solving skill development for students within the regular curriculum; intervention techniques designed to address a school violence situation; and how to participate in an effective school/community referral process for students exhibiting violent behavior.

Attendance and completion of one of each of the following seminars is required for the completion of your program. Degrees will not be conferred without the proof of attendance.

  1. Be sure to print the directions to the location of the seminar.
  2. Sign in and sign out on the attendance sheet when you attend so that you will receive credit for attending.

School Violence Prevention and Intervention (SAVE), in accordance with Education Law, section 3004

This online workshop is designed to be completed in two hours. There are four modules to be viewed and at the end of each module, there is a brief test which can be retaken multiple times if necessary. You must score 100% in each of the four tests to proceed to the next module. You will be able to take each test ONLY THREE TIMES. You must achieve a perfect score of 100% in each section to complete this seminar. Failure of any module will result in failure of the seminar and you must contact the Office of Certification and Educational Support Services at (516) 463-5747 to register for an in-person seminar presentation.
