Student of the Month

Stan Broitman

The Gerontology Program is pleased to announce Stan Broitman as the current student of the month. Stan is a certified retirement coach, certified senior advisor, retired banker and former occupational therapist. He is also co-founder of The Retirement Network. The Retirement Network’s mission is to help people achieve a fulfilling retirement, which is done through workshops, seminars and individual coaching, focusing on various aspects of retirement. Stan has given short seminars at the 92nd Street Y recently, in which the average age of attendees was over 75. He says these longer retired people are looking for new activities and have a hunger to do meaningful things. On June 16, Stan will be sitting on a panel for The Transition Network, made up of a group of retired women. By participating in this panel he hopes to gain a better understanding of how women transition into retirement and how this differs from men’s transitions. When asked why he joined the Gerontology program, he said it was solely out of interest.

Stan encourages students to contact him with any questions or if they or someone they know could benefit from his services:
