Application

Graduate Training Program in Rehabilitation Counseling

In order to complete your application for matriculation in the Graduate Training Program in Rehabilitation Counseling, you must submit, or must have submitted, the following items to the Graduate Admissions Office, 100 Hofstra University, Hempstead, New York 11549-1000:

  • All materials included in the graduate application packet.
  • All official transcripts of academic records from undergraduate and graduate schools attended.
  • A brief resume describing:
    Your work experience (especially with people with disabilities) and other professional experience (examples: camp counselor, secretary, waiter, claims adjustor, etc.).
  • Four (4) references - at least one (1) educational, and at least one (1) professional. Please instruct your references to use only the form provided by this office for that purpose.
  • An essay on: "Why I wish to be a rehabilitation counselor" (at least 800 to 1,000 words).

When all of these items have been received, this office will contact you regarding a personal interview with the Director of Rehabilitation Counselor Education.
