The Second Annual Health Professions Conference was held on March 26, 2007, at Hagedorn Hall, South Campus. The conference, sponsored by the School of Education and Allied Human Services in conjunction with the Department of Health Professions and Family Studies, highlighted the career trajectories of 11 alumni from the community health program. The fields of medicine, nursing, pharmacy, mental health, health care administration and business and public health education and policy were represented.
In addition to learning from alumni about the wide array of career paths available to community health majors, students learned about the commitment of SOEAHS to health programs and initiatives; the University’s comprehensive pre-health advisement system; the impressive and valuable benefits of becoming part of Hofstra’s alumni network; and the intellectual satisfaction of participating in a professional-style conference. More than 60 undergraduate students, 11 alumni presenters and eight faculty/administrators were in attendance.
