About the Program

The mission of the Master of Science in Sport Science is to prepare scholarly and innovative leaders in sport, physical activity and recreation. Attention is focused on research and theoretical development and implementation of leadership in sport, physical activity and recreation with specializations in adventure education and/or strength and conditioning. Individuals are provided with the means and understandings necessary to effectively lead physical activity programs in school and non-school settings. Lectures and course work promote understanding and application of current research in the area of sport, physical activity and recreation. The program is designed to provide two specialization options:

  • Strength and Conditioning
  • Adventure Education
