About STEP

The Science and Technology Entry Program (STEP) engages students (grades 7-12) in hands-onexperiences in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) career fields as well as thosethat require pre-licensure. Students participate in a number of STEM educational programs andactivities throughout the school year and the summer. Programs and activities are offered throughthe Saturday Scholars Academy and the Summer Scholars Academy. The Saturday ScholarsAcademy includes weekend and afterschool programs on Hofstra University's campus. Parents ofSTEP participants are encouraged to join the Parent Involvement in Education (PIE) program, tohelp facilitate student success through supportive parent committees.
