Faculty

The faculty in the Accounting, Taxation and Legal Studies in Business Department are recognized nationally for their contributions as authors and consultants, and they have a serious commitment to excellence in teaching. Six of the department's faculty have received the Hofstra University Award for Distinguished Teaching-The University's highest teaching award.

The Department is committed to supporting the following student organizations: Accounting Society, Beta Alpha Psi (a national professional accounting honor society), Institute of Management Accountants, National Association of Black Accountants, and the Tax Society which coordinates the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (one of the largest university-run income tax assistance programs in the nation).

The Department also provides advisement, mentoring, and tutoring programs featuring one-on-one sessions with Accounting faculty and students to assure students timely progress through their degree program.
