Admission Information

The Frank G. Zarb School of Business welcomes applications from men and women who hold baccalaureate degrees from regionally accredited institutions or the non U.S. equivalent. Students may apply as full- or part-time candidates for any of the three terms: fall, spring or summer. No specific undergraduate course of study is required for admission, nor is any specific course of study recommended.

Undergraduate majors represented in the Zarb M.B.A. Program include business, education, the natural sciences, the social sciences, engineering, the humanities and nursing. In addition, many individuals with graduate degrees in areas such as medicine, law, education and the liberal arts have earned the Zarb M.B.A.

Candidates are expected to demonstrate high promise of success in graduate business study. The criteria for admission include the strength of the undergraduate program of study and performance, GMAT scores, professional experiences indicating increasing levels of responsibility, leadership potential, commitment to professional education, and letters of recommendation.

Prospective candidates for admission are invited to visit Hofstra, preferably during the fall or spring semesters, when arrangements can be made for prospective students to attend classes and to speak with other students, faculty and administrators. Arrangements for such visits may be made by contacting: Graduate Programs Office, Frank G. Zarb School of Business, Weller Hall, 134 Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY 11549-1340; telephone: (516) 463-5683; or e-mail. . Please request a visit to the Hofstra campus through the Ambassador Program. In most cases, provided that arrangements have been made in advance, visiting students may stay overnight in on-campus housing.

  • official transcripts from all colleges attended (undergraduate and graduate);
  • a personal essay or statement of professional objectives;

Applications are self-managed, and the student is solely responsible for making sure that letters of recommendation, professional statements, resumes and other documents ire received by the Office of Graduate Programs, Zarb School of Business.

The Zarb School of Business has a process of rolling admissions. However, prospective students are encouraged to submit completed applications well in advance of the semester in which they plan to begin study.
