International M.B.A./M.S. Association

The international M.B.A./M.S. (IMA) Association of Hofstra University seeks to facilitate an environment in which Zarb graduate school students are able to appreciate diverse cultures, learn and benefit from the experiences of the student and faculty bodies and be prepared for challenges of working within a global business environment.

As the only graduate student organization within the School of Business which emphasizes international diversity, the IMA understands the unique needs of international students and aims to help them assimilate into a new way of life. The IMA provides a support structure for all incoming international students, which orients them through the various facets of the M.B.A. program for their changes in lifestyle in the early days, to their career searches and beyond.

The international M.B.A./M.S. Association is a forum of expression and self-development. Through an interchange of ideas, the IMA draws from the diverse social and cultural mores of its members and facilitates an understanding of doing business in a multinational environment.

Hofstra Investment Banking Association (H.I.B.A.)

The objective of the association is to promote the interests of Hofstra M.B.A. students, planning to pursue a career in finance.

The primary activities of the club include hosting guest speaker events and arranging for visits at financial firms and institutions where Hofstra students have the opportunity to meet with Finance professionals, and learn first hand about their experience, and career development.

In addition to career oriented events we also organize training workshops, which aim at developing presentation, as well as analytical and quantitative skills that are critical for finance careers. Among such events are seminar series, at which corporate professionals help M.B.A. students gain public speaking and effective communication skills.

We also bring investment banking professionals that teach in one-day focused seminars valuation techniques, M&A finance and accounting, financial modeling, and supplement students' theoretical knowledge with practitioners' view on finance.
