Study of International Financial Services and Markets
On May 4, 2009, the Zarb School, in conjunction with The Merrill Lynch Center for the Study of International Financial Services and Markets, presented a conference analyzing possible adoption of and convergence with International Financial Reporting Standards in the United States.
The program featured distinguished members with experience in IFRS policy: Peter Bridgman, senior vice president and controller, PepsiCo. Inc.; LizabethAnn Rogovoy Eisen, partner, Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP; Robert Gannon, global controller, News Corporation; Joel Osnoss, partner in the area of global IFRS and offerings services, Deloitte & Touche LLP; Andreas Rothe, global controller, Parsons Brinckerhoff and Glenn Tyranksi, senior vice president for financial compliance, New York Stock Exchange Regulation.
The conference included a breakfast discussion on IFRS-The Path to Conversion with Wayne Kolins, national director of assurance and the global head of audit and accounting for BDO Seidman LLP, and an luncheon discussion on the Academic Perspective on IFRS Progress by Katherine Schipper, Ph.D., Thomas F. Keller professor of business administration at Duke University's Fuqua School of Business.
