The Hofstra community and invited guests enjoyed the unique opportunity to witness the spontaneous reaction of top corporate leaders to a simulated corporate crisis on November 18, 2008. The panel consisted of experts reacting to a hypothetical corporate crisis, injecting their personal experiences and knowledge. To allow for spontaneous response, the specific topic of discussion was not revealed to the panelists prior to the event. Dean Sodano made the opening remarks and introductions. Richard Torrenzano, renowned crisis expert and chief executive of The Torrenzano Group, began with a presentation on crisis management. A socratic panel discussion followed where the audience observed the unrehearsed interaction between the different roles within a corporation, the questions asked and the processes employed in crisis management. The event concluded with a synopsis and closing remarks from John Kominicki, president of Long Island Business News.
