Ira Birns is currently the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of World Fuel Services Corporation, an $18 billion global provider of marine, aviation and land fuel products and related services, headquartered in Miami, Florida. Ira oversees the functions of M&A, planning and analysis, tax, treasury, controllership, internal audit and investor relations.

Previously, Ira held the role of Vice President and Treasurer of Arrow Electronics, Inc., a major global provider of products, services, and solutions to industrial and commercial users of electronic components and computer products, headquartered in Melville, New York. In this role, he had global responsibility for treasury, risk management and investor relations.

Ira is a CPA and Certified Treasury professional (CTP) and received a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from Hofstra University in 1983.

Ira is the current Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Association for Financial Professionals (“AFP”), based in Bethesda, Maryland, which supports more than 16,000 members in various aspects of treasury and financial management. Ira has also served as President of the Holocaust Memorial Committee of Long Island and as a member of the Board of Directors of the AHRC Foundation (Association for the Help of Retarded Children) in Nassau County, Long Island which is devoted to providing a lifetime of caring for infants and children to adults and senior citizens with developmental disabilities.

Ira resides in Pinecrest, Florida with his wife Francine and two sons, Benjamin and Blake.
