CEO, Hispanic Express

Gary Cypres, is the CEO of Hispanic Express, Inc, a Los Angeles based chain of discount travel agencies that has built its clientele by serving the burgeoning low income Spanish speaking population. Prior to Hispanic Express, Inc., Cypres served as the Chairman, CEO and President of Banner Central Finance, a financial services company specializing in loans to high risk consumers. Earlier in his career, Mr. Cypres was a general partner at SC Partners, a private investment banking and consulting company.

Cypres is a highly respected member of the business community, having lectured numerous times at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College in Hanover, Hew Hampshire on the subject of business ethics and accounting standards.

Cypres graduated from Hofstra University in 1966 where he majored in business administration. While here, he was a member of the Accounting Society and a member of the varsity basketball team. A recipient of the Estabrook Award in 1985 and the Alumni Achievement Award in 1996, Mr. Cypres also served on the Hofstra University Board of Trustees.

Mr. Cypres is a devoted sports memorabilia collector, so much so that he opened the 27,000 square foot Cypres Family Sports Museum in downtown Los Angeles. The museum, which opened in 2005, houses some of the most complete collections of baseball and basketball in the country. Also, Gary and Kathi Cypres are patrons of the arts, having funded art shows at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles and have underwritten shows in Aspen and Milwaukee.

Mr. Cypres currently resides in Los Angeles, California with his wife Kathi. He has five children Leigh, Amy, Meredith, Jeremy and Justin.
