Donna Moravick, N.P., R.N., M.B.A.

Ms. Donna Moravick, who graduated from Hofstra in May 2008 with an M.B.A. in Quality Management, was recently named executive director of North Shore-LIJ’s Southside Hospital in Bay Shore, New York.

Ms. Moravick is responsible for daily operations at the hospital and works with its management team to enhance clinical and patient services. Previously, she was vice president of cardiovascular services for North Shore-LIJ, responsible for managing cardiovascular and thoracic surgery across the health system.

She was instrumental in extending North Shore-LIJ’s cardiac surgery program to Southside in February 2011. She joined North Shore University Hospital in 1981 as a staff nurse in the surgical intensive care unit. She began working in cardiac services in 1993 as a nurse clinician for cardiac surgery. She holds a master’s degree in nursing from Stony Brook University and a master of business administration in quality management from the Zarb School. “Besides the decision to become a nurse, entering into the Hofstra M.B.A. program was one of the best career decisions I have ever made. It allowed me to gain a totally different perspective on the delivery of patient care.”
