Career Opportunities

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates a 30 percent increase in MFT job opportunities through 2016. Graduates of the M.A. in MFT Program can enjoy careers in myriad health settings, including:

• Private practice
• Community mental health agencies
• Hospitals
• Substance abuse clinics
• Child welfare agencies
• Juvenile justice programs

A number of graduates of Hofstra’s MFT Program have gone on to pursue doctoral work in the field. In addition to working in health settings, MFT doctoral graduates may pursue a career in academia and research.
