Dietmar H. Heidemann is an Assistant Professor of Philosophy. Before joining the department he taught philosophy at the University of Cologne, where he earned his Dr. Phil. Habil. (2004), his PhD (1997) and his MA (1993). His areas of specialization are Kant and German Idealism, Epistemology, Metaphysics, Ethics and Philosophy of Mind. Among his publications are: "Der Begriff des Skeptizismus" ("The Concept of Scepticism", 2007), "Kant und das Problem des metaphysischen Idealismus" ("Kant and the Problem of Metaphysical Idealism", 1998), "Ethikbegründungen" ("Justifying Ethics", ed. 2005), "Warum Kant heute? ("Why Kant now?", ed. 2004), "Manifestes und wissenschaftliches Weltbild" ("The manifest and the scientific image", in: Internationale Zeitschrift für Philosophie 2005), and "Kann man sagen, was man meint? ("Can we say what we mean?", in: Archiv für Geschichte der Philosophie 2002). His current research project focuses on the problem of intuition and evidence in contemporary epistemology and ethics. |
